BroadImpact has been contracted by the African Field Epidemiology Network (AFENET), in partnership with Africa CDC, to conduct an independent evaluation of the Kofi Annan Fellowship in Global Health Leadership Programme (KAF-GHLP). Using the Kirkpatrick Model, the evaluation will assess the fellowship’s impact on fellows’ professional growth, leadership capacity, and contributions to public health across Africa. A mixed-methods approach, including surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions, will gather insights from fellows, mentors, and stakeholders. Contribution Analysis will be used to understand how the fellowship has influenced broader public health outcomes. The findings will inform recommendations to enhance the program’s effectiveness and ensure its continued impact in strengthening public health leadership on the continent.
BroadImpact was contracted by the Global Fund as part of a consortium led by IQVIA, and also comprising the Mekong Development Research Institute, as an external evaluation team leading the pilot of Imbizo. Imbizo is an independent feedback mechanism for country stakeholders, that aims to establish a regular, iterative and independent feedback on Global Fund operations. BI has 3 M&E Specialists embedded within the core team, and is responsible for country consultations in Africa, and has led country consultation in Benin, Togo, Liberia, Senegal and South Africa so far. Project is still in progress.
BroadImpact was contracted as a local evaluation partner of the Cambridge Economic Policy Associates (CEPA) to support the end-term evaluation of Unitaid’s COVID-19 investments in Zimbabwe. This evaluation aims to assess the extent to which Unitaid's contributions have shaped the COVID-19 response and to gauge their sustainability beyond the emergency phase. It also seeks to extract valuable lessons and recommendations to inform Unitaid's future endeavors in pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response (PPPR), as well as its ongoing support for diagnostics and medical oxygen provision.
BroadImpact was contracted by Global Fund, as part of a consortium led by the Cambridge Economic Policy Associates (CEPA). The Strategic Review 2023 (SR2023) aims to assess the extent to which the 2017-2022 strategy have been achieved; the contribution of the Global Fund’s initiatives, policies, systems and processes to ensuring the relevance, coherences and effectiveness; and provide actionable recommendations towards implementation of the 2023-2028 strategy and planning processes for Grant Cycle 8 (GC8, 2025-28). BroadImpact is leading ccountry case studies in 5 countries (Nigeria, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, South Africa and Zambia)
BroadImpact was contracted by Unitaid to conduct Unitaid’s Paediatric TB portfolio evaluation. The portfolio comprised the Strengthening Paediatric TB Services for Enhanced Early Detection (TB Speed) project, Catalysing Paediatric Tuberculosis Innovations (CaP TB) project, and the WHO TB Enabler grant that covered 14 countries (12 in Sub-Saharan Africa, one in South-East Asia Region and one in the South Asia Region). BroadImpact was engaged by Koolboks SAS France to provide advisory on product specification and market access for eco - friendly solar-powered cold chain technology and equipment for innovative financing mechanisms in emerging markets.
BroadImpact supported the MIT COVID-19 Africa challenge to identify innovative solutions to address the continental response to the pandemic. Our team served as mentors and judges during the event and we have continued to provide guidance to challenge participants and winners towards improving and implementing their ideas.

BroadImpact and its partner CSK Research were contracted by CyLab Africa to conduct research on "Exploring Practices and Habits of Mobile Money Users in Africa and their Implications on Cybersecurity and Financial Inclusion" in Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania.
BroadImpact was engaged by the Open Society Foundations along with Social Change Factory and Partners for Peace to conduct youth mapping in 33 African countries namely; Algeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Botswana, Cabo Verde, Cameroon, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea Bissau, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mali, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Tunisia, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The project was aimed at producing a rich resource on youth social movements and policy spaces at national, regional and continental levels in Africa. BroadImpact Consulting was responsible for the mapping exercise in 13 African countries namely - Algeria, Botswana Ethiopia, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Seychelles, South Africa, Tunisia, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe, and building an interactive online platform and dashboard for youth groups data visualisation and geographical mapping.
BroadImpact worked with the African Union Commission and UNICEF to evaluate the AU’s Campaign to End Child Marriage in Africa. This assignment involved the engagement of African Union teams -Department of Social Affairs (DSA) and the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), UNFPA, UNICEF, partners and member state representatives, the collation and analyses of data from 54 member states campaign progress submissions, key informant interviews of country and partner focal persons, the organisation and the development of a 2 year report (2016-2018) for the campaign to end child marriage detailing the status of child marriage, the campaigns impact, and recommendations for the campaign to achieve its objectives.
BroadImpact’s lead international consultant for UN Women, Addis Ababa- working with the African Union Commission conducted literature review and secondary data research on 55 African Union member states progress on ratification and implementation of charters and treaties on the rights of the Child, and legal frameworks legalizing child marriage towards the development of a compendium of child marriage laws in Africa. The compendium highlights countries implementation of the rights of the child and legal frameworks, implementation of the campaign to end child marriage recommendations for marriage laws and minimum age for marriage in Africa and was presented to Ministers of Gender at the AU High level Summit on Women. BroadImpact’s lead international Consultant for UNICEF working with the African Union Commission, and the AU Campaign to End Child marriage to developed a Monitoring and Evaluation Framework for the African Union’s Campaign to End Child Marriage in Africa (CECM). This involved the engagement African Union teams -Department of Social Affairs (DSA) and the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA), and UN bodies and other partners, the development of a logic model and M&E framework for the campaign, developed set of indicators for monitoring and evaluation of the campaign, developed reporting forms and tools for the routine reporting by 54 member countries and training guidelines and documents for use of the framework. This M&E framework presently guides all Africa member states in routine reporting on progress on the campaign to end child marriage.
